Atsushi Koyama

Human forms interacting with mechanical parts on a black canvas, Atsushi Koyama produces his oil paintings while listening to electronic music. Separately, the technical diagrams and anatomical studies look very classical, but combined, in oil on canvas it takes on a completely new life. Atsushi Koyama holds a degree in 'Fine Art' and 'Mathematics', well represented in his art...

Creating on the borderline of art and science with electronic sounds filling his workspace resulted in the 'Metamachine project'. A collaboration between Atsushi Koyama, Frantic Gallery and Abonded Audio.

Chicara Nagata 2

It's not about speed, it's all about design and emotion. Looking at Chicara Nagata's bikes, high end finish and the beautiful materials, you can't but wonder how would it feel to drive one.
We mentioned Chicara before, but these moped are just exquisite and not something most custom builders usually tackle. Small mopeds with great style...

This little 25cc Honda in fact is designed to be a surveillance camera.

Nobuhiro Nakanishi

This is the amazing multi-layered world of Japanese artist Nobuhiro Nakanishi. His work is defined by the subtle changes of time turned into a three-dimensional physical sculpture or installation. It is a completely different experience from the typical flat picture we are used to.
Nobuhiro Nakanishi calls it multi layered drawings. Photographs taken over a period of time are printed out and mounted on acryl sheets.

Hiroshi Watanabe

"Artifacts" Things from Japanese internment camps; Hiroshi Watanabe.

This series started when Hiroshi Watanabe was commissioned by the San Jose museum of art. The project was to photograph the city's Japantown. You can read the story about his work on "Artifacts" here
The Photographs are of a beautiful simplicity. Very well printed and with a great soft tonal range, as is all Hiroshi Watanabe's work. I had the opportunity seeing his work at the 8th "Angkor Photo Festival" (Siem Reap, Cambodia). Most of the work was from the series "Kabuki players", prints and presentation were of very high standard.
